Colorful Cupcakes!

When making cupcakes, they don't always have to be one color. A cupcake can be all sorts of colors and it's easy to do!

First, make the cupcake batter as you would regularly.

Then separate the batter into as many bowls as you want colors. In each bowl add different food coloring as desired. So that is looks like this...

Then once you put cupcake liners in the pan, put a layer of each colored batter within each one.

Once they are complete, they should come out looking like the ones I created below!!!

Also, you can add different colored frostings to each to brighten them up even more!!

!!!ENJOY!!!

Graduation

With graduation right around the corner, what is more perfect then a cupcake to celebrate! My cousin and I made these cupcakes for a high school graduation. the idea of this cupcake came from The Hello Cupcake Book.

Instead of making them the exact same, we changed the ingredients a bit. Instead of using Mallowmars as the base of the cap, we used and upside down peanut butter cup. And as the top of the cap, we used home made milk chocolate squares. Also, because the schools colors were blue and white, we based the color of the cap off that. Also, for the diploma, we just rolled white fondant and tied it with red licorice string.

Animal Print

One of my best friend's birthdays just passed and she loves animal and cheetah print. Her whole room is covered in black and pink animal prints, so I decided to make her cupcakes that match her style. First I used boxed buttermilk cupcake mix. I separated the batter into two separate bowls and added black food coloring to one and pink to the other. Then, I put each into a pastry bag and filled each cupcake holder with different designs of batter. After being baked, they came out and looked like this.....

Then I frosted the cupcakes with homemade vanilla frosting. Once they were frosted I wanted to incorporate the black and pink animal print designs. For this, I went and found Animal Skin Tattoos created by Duff Goldman that came in Pink Black and White. These decorations are great and easy to use. They are sold in craft stores such as Michaels or online. Click on picture below to get to website.

Once I put the Animal Skin Tattoo on each cupcake, I added little pink edible pearls (also found in Michaels or online) around the edges. The final product looked like this!!!

It was easy to do and delicious to eat! Try them out!

Mr. Cupcake

One of my favorite places to get cupcakes is at Mr. Cupcake. Their cupcakes are so moist and delicious that they even made it onto the show "Cupcake Wars" on Food Network. I honestly cannot east just one. They not only have regular sized cupcakes but they also have miniatures. My favorite cupcake of theirs are definitely the red velvet and the snowball fight. They are located all over.
